12th August 2008

Minor update. Some screen cosmetics and support for additional USB to Serial converters

24th January 2007

Minor update with additional support for previously untested USB to Serial converters.

16th November 2006

Version 2.06

Added a sample Landscape traveler. You can easily modify this sample using the built in report writer.

Enhanced the creation of manual deals.  The new screen is easier to navigate and understand. It also has a fast interface to the GIB double dummy engine.

13th October 2006
Version 2.05
Added .PBN to the export format list.

Added .DUP to the import format list.

New. Deal with card faces hidden. Configuration setting. This allows all card faces to be hidden (and a choice of card backs to be displayed). This also hides the make-able contract grid on the dealing screens.

This option has been a popular end-user request over the last few months.
Report credits removed. The Hand records had build in acknowledgement to GIB and to Able Software.
These credits were hard coded to the page footer. We have found that some clubs do not use the standard A4 size for these and so the credits were showing in odd places.
By removing them we allow you to design hand records on all paper sizes. We request that you do put an acknowledgement to GIB on hand records whenever you have used the GIB engine to analyze the contracts.
In a future release we include a simple pre-built GIB field so that you can drop this onto any report.

27th September 2006
Version 2.04
Added Export functions. We now support Export to DUP and BRI formats.
Export to PBN will be in the next release.

5th September 2006

Version 2.03
Minor update. Some changes to the dealing screens and the error messages.

28th August 2006

Version 2.02
Another minor update. This contains some changes to the report templates and a sample Howell traveler (no table numbers).

27th August 2006

Version 2.01

This is a minor upgrade to fix the timing issues some computers have when identifying the attached autodealer.
With this release we have moved to patches to reduce download time.

Click on the links to be taken to the download patch where we explain the patches and how to apply them.

Warning: The full version is shipping our report templates. If you have modified these for your own use but retained our original file names you will lose your changes.

Before you install an update we recommend that you go to the reports section and save your changes under new file names. Please make these sufficiently unusual names so as to avoid accidental over-writes with future updates.

23rd August 2006

Version 2.0.
This is a large update. We expect to release future minor updates as patches to reduce download time.
This version includes:

bulletImport Event name defaults to disk file name (requested feature)
bulletManually create hands.
bulletReport writer help file. Step by step tutorial.
bulletEasier registration process
bulletNew options on the dealing screens (auto send North and strip deck option)

11th August 2006

This version is being released a few days later than we'd hoped. Sorry about that!

We have now completed and tested the dealing routines for on several different brands of Serial-USB converters. We also have more users testing changes before we release the updates.
With this release we now support multiple machines on one licence and have enabled an easy method of moving the licensed software between computers without having to enter activation codes each time.
Note that you still must have a licensed Autodealer connected and turned on for this software to work.

There is now a number of extra configuration options. Mostly these are explained with onscreen help messages but we are also working on a manual.

31st July 2006

Lots of feedback coming from users now.
This version has two separate dealing screens. One for computers with display resolution set to 800x600 and the other for resolutions set to 1024x768. It is usual to just resize windows controls depending on display settings but we have found that the card display on this particular screen does not resize nicely and so we have gone with two separate windows. The detection and display is automatic.

We have taken this opportunity to move some of the controls and review the layout based on end-user requests.
We have also nearly completed the "manually create deals" option. We expect to have this in place this week. In the meantime you are taken to a new menu when you select this option but the links currently finish there.
This version fixes some minor bugs that have been reported:

1. When both automatic options for card box change were selected (start to deal and display forward) then the display jumped to deal 2 immediately (without dealing hand 1). This is now fixed.

2. Some field display size issues in the report writer were noted and have now been corrected.

25th July 2006

This version is to test some different serial interfaces and USB-to-Serial converters.
In the process of distributing the latest DealAblepro we have found that not all USB-to-Serial converters are automatically detected.

This version is to allow some users to test a different interface and will be replaced as soon as we have had sufficient feedback from those users.
If this current test is successful we expect to be able to provide automatic detection of the Autodealer when it is connected via a much bigger range of serial interfaces.

If you wish to evaluate DealAblepro we recommend that you use the previous version (18th July) or wait until the next update (27th July).

18th July 2006

Now Imports .PBN and .BRI Files. The End user report writer section now has an example of an A5 traveller (the sample A4 traveller still exists as well). You can modify either of these to suit your own requirements.

We have also shown how to use the report writer to print a selected range of hands. There are two examples of this in the report section. The first one uses a hard coded range. The second one uses a pop-up window for end-user input.
You can now edit existing events. i.e. You may increase (or decrease) the number of deals in each event.
If you increase the number of deals in an event and have previously used GIB to do a double-dummy analysis on that event then you can (optionally) choose to just test the new deals in the event.
NEW. Select the display order on the deal screen. Alternate the colours (S-H-C-D) or use standard order.
NEW. Statistics report showing points and distributions for each event.

14th July 2006

Added new travelling score sheets to the sample reports. You can use this or modify it easily to suit your own needs. This report shows the use of graphics for the card suit symbols.
The install program also now includes an 'uninstall' option.

12th July 2006.
Fixed the error message that showed when entering the report writer menu.
Primed Categories for new installations.
Improved navigation between action screens.
Now shows event name on GIB screen and on Report screen.

NEW. Transaction history. View all actions on a particular set. See when it has been viewed, dealt, printed etc.

11th July 2006.
First general release version since NZ Congress in July 2006. We have redone the dealing routines and included all features as per the 'features page'

Notes:
The Road Map page shows features and enhancements we are working on.
All the features in the roadmap will be part of the standard DealAblePro package.
No matter when you buy DealAblePro your licence will always work with any later upgrade.

Optional Modules.

We have some plans for features that will NOT be part of the standard package. These will be provided as optional (extra) modules.
These modules will be for specialised application and of little interest to the bulk of our users.
These modules are way down our priority list at this time. The Road Map shows the features we are working on for the standard package and these take priority.
